Lughat is an offline-first Urdu ⇄ English dictionary application developed and maintained by Ateeq. The app is designed to help readers, learners, and writers look up words in both Urdu and English — even without an internet connection.
This Privacy Policy explains how Lughat handles information in connection with your use of the app. By using Lughat, you agree to the practices described below.
Lughat does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to us or any third party. There are no analytics libraries, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services embedded in the app.
Specifically, we do not collect:

Lughat stores a small amount of data locally on your device using
Android's / iOS's sandboxed SharedPreferences storage. This data
never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

You can clear this data at any time from Settings → Clear word cache or by uninstalling the app.
Lughat is designed to work offline. When you are connected to the internet and explicitly search for a word, the app makes a request to the Free Dictionary API (freedictionaryapi.com) to retrieve its definition.
The search query (the word itself) is included in this API request as part of the URL. The Free Dictionary API is a public, open service. Please review their privacy policy if you have concerns about their data handling.
Lughat itself does not receive or record these requests. The definition response is cached locally on your device for future offline use. No other outbound network connections are made by the app.

We do not integrate any advertising networks, social login providers, analytics platforms, or crash-reporting services.
Lughat does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Because no personal data is collected at all, Lughat is safe for use by children under parental or guardian supervision.
Since Lughat does not collect any personal data, there is nothing held by us to access, correct, export, or delete. All data that exists is stored locally on your device and is entirely within your control.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Effective" date at the top of this page will be updated. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
As long as Lughat remains a free, offline-first dictionary with no user accounts, the fundamental commitment — we collect no personal data — will not change.
